Color Inspiration: Pink and Blue is such a Tea-se!

I was ecstatic when I discovered that my favorite tea store Teavana had finally opened on the Upper East Side in NYC.  After only being able to get their teas on trips to the Mall — which I swear I rarely make!!! –, it was like seeing a mirage when I noticed them on Lexington Avenue and 87th Street this summer.  Their Samurai Chair Mate blend is really one of the best teas I have ever tasted!

In addition to freshly brewing their teas to order, Teavana offers a feast for the eyes between their beautifully designed tea products and their colorful tea canisters.  On a recent visit, I was admiring their display of teas which reminds me of a wall of paint cans at Benjamin Moore:

While looking at this beautiful wall of color, I thought, I love how they put that hot pink next to the navy blue — now that would make a great room!

Here is the fabric scheme I devised as a nod to my favorite tea store:

I mixed in a Designer’s Guild textural wallpaper which you can see in the background to make this room extra pinky for a fun girl’s bedroom.  But this could also easily be made into a guest room with a different color on the walls — perhaps a hot pink with a navy blue cross-hatch painted on top which would dull the pink a bit and make the room as palatable for a male guest as a female guest.   Another go-to of mine  — an off-white rug on the floor to quiet all of this down a bit.
